The Greely Loop is a pedestrian and cycling route that is being developed to connect the many Greely neighbourhoods that are currently separated by busy high-speed roads. The route will use existing pathways, quiet residential streets, and three new linking trails to complete the Greely Loop of roughly 10 km. Families can cycle together and discover different Greely neighbourhoods. Residents can visit the library and community centre or their Greely friends without hopping in the car!
This is a volunteer activity spearheaded by the Greely Pathways sub-committee of the Greely Community Association. The construction of the linking trails is possible thanks to the support of the private landowners, the generous sponsorship of local companies and the guidance of the City of Ottawa.
Completion of the Loop is targeted for the end of 2017. Directional signs are installed along the route. Barriers, other safety features and a map of the route are targeted for completion in 2018.
